Cystine

Cystine is of interest, not only because it builds proteins such as hair, but because it helps destroy harmful chemicals in the body such as acetaldehyde and free radicals produced by smoking and drinking. Recently, Dr. William Philpott has postulated that cystine is necessary for the utilization of vitamin B-6. His studies suggest that “most chronic degenerative illnesses, whether physical or mental, have a vitamin B-6 utilization disorder. Glutamine
