A New Publication Milestone: Advancing Integrative Thyroid Health Research

I’m excited to share an important professional milestone in my journey as a Functional Nutrition Counselor, Health Coach, and advocate for root-cause healing. I recently had the honor of contributing to a literature review publication with Dr. Angela Mazza, a highly respected endocrinologist and leader in integrative and metabolic medicine. Dr. Mazza is recognized for her work in thyroid health and patient-centered integrative endocrinology.

This publication marks my third scientific publication, and I feel incredibly grateful to continue contributing to research that supports a more comprehensive and functional approach to thyroid and metabolic health.

Why This Publication Matters

Thyroid conditions—including thyroid nodules, hypothyroidism, and autoimmune thyroid disease—continue to affect millions of people. Many patients are often presented with a limited number of conventional options focused primarily on monitoring, medications, or surgical intervention.

Within functional and integrative medicine, we recognize that thyroid dysfunction often involves deeper imbalances that deserve attention:

  • Chronic inflammation

  • Oxidative stress

  • Nutrient deficiencies

  • Gut dysfunction

  • Immune dysregulation

  • Hormonal imbalance

  • Environmental toxin exposure

Our literature review explores integrative and natural approaches to thyroid nodule treatment, examining evidence and emerging trends surrounding nutritional, botanical, and supportive therapies for thyroid health. The publication discusses strategies that may support inflammation balance, metabolic health, micronutrient status, and overall thyroid physiology.

Collaboration with Dr. Angela Mazza

Working alongside Dr. Angela Mazza has been an incredibly inspiring experience. Collaborating with physicians and researchers who are committed to advancing thyroid education and patient-centered care reinforces my own mission—to empower individuals through nutrition, education, and a deeper understanding of healing.

This opportunity allowed me to combine my passion for functional nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and whole-person wellness with meaningful scientific work.

Why Research Matters in Functional Medicine

At Embody Vitality, I believe healing is not simply about symptom management. True healing comes from understanding the body as an interconnected system.

Research helps move this mission forward by bringing awareness to approaches that may otherwise be overlooked, including:

  • Nutritional interventions

  • Anti-inflammatory strategies

  • Gut healing support

  • Detoxification pathways

  • Hormonal balance

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Integrative therapies

As more clinicians and practitioners contribute to research, we create stronger conversations around comprehensive and personalized healthcare.

Looking Ahead

This may be my third publication, but I truly feel like I’m only getting started.

I’m excited for future collaborations, continued learning, and additional opportunities to bridge functional medicine, research, and patient empowerment.

Thank you for being part of my journey and for trusting Embody Vitality as a resource for healing, education, and hope.

With gratitude,
